Excel at High Elevations

Symptoms for altitude sickness can be headache, shortness of breath, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, nausea. We get dehydrated quicker at higher altitudes and this can be one of the reasons for altitude sickness. This is very common when visiting Colorado and other places that have high elevation. When visiting places like Colorado, many people tend to engage in outdoor activities, such as hiking or skiing where they are exerting themselves.

It is very easy to not realize we aren’t drinking enough water. Keeping our electrolytes at normal levels in high altitude, especially when it is colder and many people don’t realize they are sweating, is very important. Chances of altitude sickness go up when you come from a place like California or Florida that are at sea level. It is important to keep hydrated.

Our cellular Metabolism can change at higher elevations and our bodies are trying to find a homeostatic balance. It is important to feed your body fluids and electrolytes as your body adjusts to the elevation.

This is where IV therapy can help. IV therapy puts fluids directly into your veins and completely bypasses the GI tract. This means your body gets all the fluids immediately without losing some to the digestive system and taking much longer to absorb. The fluid used in IV therapy is Normal Saline which has sodium in it, an extremely important electrolyte especially when trying to rehydrate and keep a balanced amount of fluid in your body.

Our B complex and Mineral blend offer the nutrients you need for dehydration. We don't just lose fluid when we are dehydrated, we lose our most needed minerals and electrolytes. It is important to get those replaced in order to feel better as they are paramount in our bodies metabolic functions. The B complex contains specific  B vitamins such as: Thiamine (B1) is sometimes referred to as the “anti-stress vitamin”. It can increase your bodies ability to withstand stressful conditions and increase your bodies immune response.Riboflavin (B2)  can act as a powerful antioxidant that improves the function of our immune system so that you can fight off whatever is ailing you. Niacin(B3) is the ringer of the B vitamins. It can activate the immune system by up to an astounding 1000x the normal levelPantothenic Acid (B5) assists niacin in activating innate immune response. Pyridoxine (B6) is an essential nutrient that contributes to our mental wellbeing that can help with stress. These essential ingredients are important to keep your body operating properly and can diminish quicker in high altitude.

Along with altitude sickness can come nausea and vomiting. With IV therapy, based on our critical care nurse assessment, we can add medication in the IV to stop the vomiting and get you back to normal quicker.

A suggested add-on to this therapy would be a dosage of B12. B12 can increase concentration, mental clarity and energy. Ask your nurse about adding a dose of b12 into this therapy for increased benefits.

With Intravene Mobile IV therapy, we can get you back to the mountains quicker so you can keep doing what you love to do.
